We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how users interact with Articulated.

Important: TelemetryDeck does not collect any personally identifiable information. We use your device's vendor identifier, which is specific to our app and cannot be used to track you across other apps.

If you purchase a subscription, we use a third-party service to securely manage purchases. This service processes:

• Purchase status and subscription details
• A randomly generated customer identifier
• No payment information is stored by our app

When you submit a feature request:

• Your request title and description are collected
• Your email address is optional and only used if you choose to provide it
• Your votes on other feature requests
• Your vote is not identifiable

All your vocabulary learning data is stored locally on your device:

• Your vocabulary collections and word lists
• Personal notes and context for each word
• Learning preferences and topic selections
• AR placement data and images
• Custom learning schedules
• Language preferences
• Progress tracking data

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.

When you select topics for vocabulary discovery:

• Your topic preferences are processed securely by our AI
• We generate contextually relevant vocabulary based on your interests
• No personal profile is created from your topics
• Topic data is not stored after vocabulary generation
• Your learning patterns remain private

What we do NOT do:

• Store your topic selections permanently
• Create user profiles based on interests
• Share your learning preferences with third parties
• Use your data to train AI models

When you use the AR vocabulary placement feature:

• Camera access is only activated when you explicitly use the AR feature
• AR placement data is stored locally on your device
• Photos with vocabulary placements are saved only if you choose to
• No AR data or images are sent to our servers
• AR sessions are not recorded or monitored

Standard AR Mode:

• Uses ARWorldTracking for environmental tracking
• No face data is collected or processed
• Places vocabulary words in 3D space around you
• All processing happens locally on your device

What we do NOT do:

• Store or transmit any photos, videos, or AR session data
• Use facial recognition or biometric identification
• Create face profiles or templates
• Share camera or AR data with any third parties
• Use the camera for any purpose beyond AR vocabulary placement

Important Notice: If your device supports TrueDepth camera capabilities and you use AR features that position vocabulary relative to your face:

Face Data Collection: Articulated may use Apple's TrueDepth API and ARKit face tracking solely for real-time augmented reality features. Specifically:

• Data Collected: Facial landmarks and head pose data may be processed in real-time to position vocabulary words relative to your face during AR sessions
• Purpose: This data is used exclusively to enhance the AR experience by accurately placing vocabulary words in 3D space relative to your facial position for better memorization
• Real-time Processing Only: All face tracking data is processed locally on your device in real-time and is immediately discarded after use
• No Storage: We do not store, save, or retain any face data, facial recognition information, or biometric identifiers
• No Transmission: Face data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties
• No Third-Party Sharing: Face tracking data is not shared with any third-party services, including our analytics provider TelemetryDeck
• User Control: Face tracking only occurs when you actively use AR features that require facial positioning. You can avoid this entirely by using standard AR placement or non-AR features

Important: The TrueDepth API is only used if you explicitly activate AR features that require facial positioning. If your device doesn't support face tracking, the app automatically falls back to standard AR functionality without any face data processing.

We request camera permission for our AR (Augmented Reality) features to place vocabulary words in your environment. Our camera usage includes:

• Environmental tracking for placing words in 3D space
• Optional face-relative positioning on supported devices
• The camera is only activated when you explicitly choose to use AR placement
• No photos or videos are captured unless you explicitly save an AR scene

We request photo library permission to allow you to save AR vocabulary placements as images. We only access photos when you explicitly choose to save or share them.

We use carefully selected third-party services to enhance your experience:

• Analytics: TelemetryDeck for privacy-focused usage analytics
• Subscriptions: Apple's secure payment processing and subscription management
• Feature Requests: User feedback and feature request management
• AI Processing: Secure AI services for vocabulary discovery

All third-party services are chosen for their commitment to user privacy and data protection.

• Face data, facial recognition data, or biometric identifiers
• Photos or media files (except AR captures you explicitly save)

• All data transmission is encrypted
• Local data is protected by your device security
